Work in Progress 5

Looking at the text of the book and looking back at some early work I did with text manipulations, I thought about what it was I was trying to do when reading Pilgrim of the Wild. Essentially, I'm looking for Adam Czerniakow who I know read the book during the war.

I thought about manipulating the text somehow and then considered what it is that makes us individuals. Of course, it's our DNA, and so I looked at the letters used in DNA codes (A, C, T and G) and exposed these letters in Grey Owl's text by removing all other letters.

The following is the first page of the prologue after manipulation.

What interests me about the copy of 'Pilgrim of the Wild' that I have is the first page which can be seen below.

Dedication

When this dedication was written on the first page of the book in 1935 the Second World War was still four years away. Pat, whoever he or she might be, was reading the book with no knowledge of what was to come.
